- Lake Erie Electric is proud to have received the following awards from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation for 2009
Special Award - operating without a lost time accident from 11/17/08 thru 12/31/09 and 1,122,614 hours
Group Award - Achieving the lowest incident rate within Specialty Trade Conractors
100% Award - Working the entire year without an injury or illness resulting in a day away from work
Achievement Award - Reducing incident rate by at least 25% from the previoius year

- Safety Excellence Award
- Lake Erie Electric of Toledo is the proud recipient of the 2009 Safety Excellence Award. This award recognizes only one member each year from the Ohio/Michigan Chapter, NECA. The winner is chosen based upon accident / injury statistics, unique ways to train or influence workers to be safe, and creative ways to be in compliance with OSHA standards.

- RES Manager received NABCEP Certification
- Congratulations to Renewable Energy Solutions (RES) Manager Tom Whitby for receiving the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Certification for Solar PV installations in the Cleveland area.

- Participation in IPD presentation to COAA
- Lake Erie Electric participated in the presentation of Integrated Project Deliver (IPD) to the Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), both the Cleveland and Virginia Chapters. This provided owners with an overview of an alternative project delivery method.

- LEED-CI Gold Certified Project
- Lake Erie Electric is pleased to announce the Environments 4 Business project has achieved LEED-CI Gold Certification. This is the first LEED-CI Gold Certified project in Cleveland. LEE was selected by the owner to participate in this design build project. As a member of the team, we provided both the budget and the electrical design of the space and followed through with all the LEED requirements to achieve the certification.

- Ford Recognition Award
- Lake Erie Electric received Ford Motor Company's Construction Management Achievement Award for working more than 10,000 construction labor hours without a recordable incident in 2009.

- Lake Erie Electric Powers Up
- Lake Erie Electric (Westlake) is proud to be working on the new Juvenile Justice Center in the Fairfax neighborhood of Cleveland. LEE has been on site right from the beginning providing temporary lighting and power, and to install underground conduits and feeds for electrical wiring. In addition, LEE did all the electrical installation, including the lighting, the security, fire alarm and intercom systems; and the power for mechanical equipment, including air handling units, exhaust fans, miscellaneous pumps, and the overhead doors for the loading docks.

- Lake Erie Electric (Cleveland and Akron) are OSHA Elite Contractors. This is a partnership with the OSHA Cleveland Area Office to achieve measurable, meaningful improvements in construction worker safety.
